The Ugandan LRA leader Joseph Kony is the latest African tyrant to make headlines. Apparently he's doing some awful things in Africa including using children as soldiers and sex slaves, none of which is a new phenomenon. Of course that doesn't make it good, or even ok, but these types of crimes have been going on all over Africa throughout history, Kony is only the latest tyrant to use his power and influence over the people.
Now let me be on the record as saying that I do not support Kony in any way, I'm simply asking whether or not we should be involved.
It has come to my attention that a movement has started, a movement to find and eliminate Joseph Kony. If this movement was made up of freedom fighters, mercenaries and guerrillas volunteering to go help find this man to bring him to justice, I would have no problem with it. My issue is that this movement is designed to use the Children of America and the world to force military intervention in a foreign country.
This movement has urged the use of propaganda in order to expand the message. As a political activist, I must agree that this tactic makes sense. What troubles me is that it's being used in our public schools, without any consideration to the causes and effects that have come in the past and will likely come in the future if we continue on this path of military interventionism. When in our recent history has it been acceptable to use students to advocate war? The video which has been shown in our schools says "we will fight war". Now, I'm sure this can be dissected many different ways, but the context in this video is to get U.S. Involvement, so what do you think that means? Really, what does “military advisers” mean?
I'm also deeply troubled that this video and movement is exaggerating the current impact of Kony, since his forces have been greatly reduced in recent time. Are the children being told that the United States has been giving the poor people of Africa hundreds of billions of dollars a year and much of this money often goes to people like Kony. Are the children being taught that the U.S. has often been involved in situations around the world helping people, only to have those we helped turn into the likes of Saddam Hussein, Osama Bin Laden and Joseph Kony. Today, they ask for Military Advisers, but we all know it turns into weapons and troops in no time, once we find a political excuse to be involved and this movement is doing exactly that, urging involvement in yet another foreign conflict.
Just a few short years ago young people in this country took to the streets to fight against the war in Iraq. Now our young people are being used to urge the deployment of military assets in a foreign land. Is this still America? I feel like I've woken up in an alternate universe where now U.S. Military involvement has become the norm instead of the exception.
In closing I want to say that I would be thrilled to have more young people involved in the political process. I would be thrilled to have young people really care about what's going on in the world and especially in our own country. But it troubles me when I see children being used as pawns for political gain. Stopping one man will never end the atrocities, only freedom and individual liberty can do that.
If you're a parent of a child in school, I would urge you to investigate the use of this video and to discover the intent and to get an explanation as to it’s use as curriculum. Especially since one of the primary functions of this movement is to raise addition funds for "Tri" with the sale of bracelets being targeted at the kids, which we all know are particularly susceptible to peer pressure marketing.

Mike

Modern Morals of the average Ron Paul hater
There once was a time when we learned that it was not right to go around punching and hitting people, especially if the only reason was name calling and chiding. Many parents teach their kids to defend themselves but only when someone hits them first.
Sticks and stones may break my bones but names will never hurt me.
Today it's being re-written.
Sticks and Stones may break me bones, but provocative words are worse.
The new moral of the story, attack anyone who uses words you don't agree with. Especially if they threaten someone else. You need not wait for them to attack you directly.
Can you imagine?
Mother - Billy, why did you punch Bobby in the nose?
Son - Mom, Bobby was going to hit Kyle first.
Mother - Bobby was going to hit Kyle, but he didn't actually hit Kyle?
Son - Yup. That's what I learned from watching Fox News. It's ok to attack someone if they were going to attack your friend first.
Mother - Oh, that makes perfect sense....
Really???
Is this the new lesson we are going to teach our children?

Akbar Coup
So the Media is cheering for the great shift in power in Egypt, also known as a coup, when the military takes control. Usually when this happens, it's not a momentous occasion, but in the Middle East it's opposite land. When people in Iran rise up and protest against their controlling regime, the U.S Government sits on it's hands. But, when people in Egypt rise up in protest and the origins are unknown, the administration shows strong support even is it flips back and forth like a fish out of water. Why is the Media cheering this event so strongly? The answer is simple. Barrack Obama needs his own personal Berlin Wall. It doesn't matter if the protest leads to a genuine democratic government or not, as long as he can point to revolution during his watch it can be spun during the next 18 months in his favor. Even if the Muslim Brotherhood takes control, it's highly unlikely that will happen over night, so Obama and his administration have plenty to use as inspirational Hopey, Changy ammo leading up to 2012.
In the words of our own Director of National Intelligence James Clapper, "The Muslim Brotherhood is a largely secular organization". OH, wait a minute, Scratch that. After having his hand slapped, he now says that "Muslim" is simply an umbrella term pointing out that the Brotherhood has eschewed violence. Apparently he misunderstood the twitter post. Pay no attention to the history of the Brotherhood, the murders and executions or their assistance to the Nazis during WWII, they now claim peace, so of course we must believe them.
All I can say now is that I hope, I truly hope the people of Egypt stay stong and resist the temptation to fall in line with powers that will lead them down a worse path then the one they have just traveled.
Cheers,
Mike

Illegal Immigration Concerns
Illegal immigration concerns, It's not just for the U.S. anymore.
Despite what you might believe after hearing all the hype from the main stream media, illegal immigration is not just a problem in the U.S. on the Southern Border. Mexico has troops on it's southern border as well keeping out the More Southern South Americans. This despite the fact that the Mexican President, Caldarone sees the need to come here and scold Americans for wanting to keep Mexicans in Mexico.
What you might not have heard is that China also is battling an immigration problem not very different from our own. Chinese Factories are being flooded with workers from all over Asia and even Africa. Chinese Industry leaders claim that these workers are necessary to keep up with expansion since it takes to long to train Chinese workers who come from the country side with little or no skills. Sound familiar? Why is it that we buy most of our goods from other countries but when we try to implement polices like those being used in some of those very same countries, we are looked at as lacking compassion.

Is Isreal still allowed to defend itself?
Do you remember when Rodney Kings was beaten by police and the video was all over the world? did you think Rodney King was at fault in that video? Maybe you've seen the video of police beating a MD student in Prince George County. Is that Student the bad guy? Watch this video and decide for yourself.
Now consider the Jewish response last week to the Flotilla trying to run the Block aid. Israel has received a lot of heat for their military response but what most are not showing you is the video that shows what lead up to the military firing upon the folks on this ship. The people on board this ship attacked the soldiers who can on board to inspect the vassal. They attacked these soldiers with pipes and even threw on of them overboard.
Are they allowed to defend themselves or not?

Mike

"More Change" No Missile Shield More Patriot Act
It seems that the Obama Administration is doing it again. More Change we can believe in. More Hope! Eastern Europe is now open to missile attack from Iran and Possibly China. This is of course another George W. Bush commitment that Obama has now changed. It seems he is more concerned with overturning everything Bush did than he is in actually improving conditions and safety in the world. In addition to this the news comes out on the 70th aniversery of the Russian invasion of Poland.
The administration is saying that this is an effort to calm Putins concerns over the system. That eliminating this system will improve chances of gaining Kremlin support for Nuclear Arms Control and assistance in Afghanistan. Does anyone believe that Russia is going to disarm? I mean really? Russia, rolling into Georgia with tanks and troops over some oil, RUSSIA!!! Are they going to sit back now, calm over the threat that little old Poland or the Czech Republic are over Russia and decide maybe that Obama guy is right. Let's get rid of our Nuc's. REALLY???
This is nothing more than a powerful Liberal President using his pull to push an agenda that most Americans and most Eastern Europeans do not agree with. He is bowing to Russia while allowing the growing threat of Iran to loom in the distance. In addition to this, it was just announced that he supports extending the Patriot Act. Scraping the Patriot Act was a campaign promise that garnered allot of support from his left wing base. Just more evidence that Obama is not the great unifying agent that many believed him to be. He is instead the gifted two faced smooth talking politician that many of us feared him to be.
He will say anything and do whatever he wants.
Change you can believe in?
Cheers,
Mike

IRAN
It's really frustrating watching what's going on in IRAN. The U.S. has been waiting for a situation like this for how long? Now we get it and our leader is treating it like any other day. No strong words, nothing. Surly no physical support. Now Iran is accusing the U.S. of interfering. OK, sure.
Another thing that is really grating on my nerves today, is all the protests here in the U.S. I'm willing to bet many of the same people who are now protesting for support of the Iranian situation are the very same folks who protested against the war in Iraq. People who said the Bush Administration killed Innocent women and children. If I'm wrong and all the protesters are really 912 members and Tea Party Folks, than I'll put a Obama bumper sticker on my car, but I really doubt this is the case. When will the bleeding heart idiots realize that you can't have it both ways. You can't liberate an oppressed people without the use of intervention. If you support intervention then you can't whine about it when someone gets hurts. Choose a side and live with the consequences.
I personally support the Iranian people who want real regime change. The problem is that we don't have enough information about the Iranian people to know whether those are in the majority of not. It looks that way on T.V. It's also curious that they have signs in English. It seems that they are asking for help. Or is it that someone wants it to appear that way.
At any rate it seems like the U.S. is not coming, thanks in part to Mr. Obama's lack of leadership and also a very jaded Liberal Agenda. Think about this. How is a Liberal Controlled Government going to come to the aid of Iran when they still cry about how Bush is responsible for Iraq. They are still blaming all of our problems on Bush. They cannot possibly go to the aid of Iran without losing face.
Cheers,
Mike

Should health care be a right?
Today I heard an explanation of universal health care as a "right" that made me think. Those who believe Health Care is a right must then believe they own some part of someone Else's time and or income. If you are owed Health Care, someone has to pay for it. and someone needs to provide it. Do you follow me on this?
Those individuals who are going around gathering support for Health Care because it's a "right" need to have this explanation made clear to them. There is no such thing as free health care. Someone needs to pay and someone needs to provide the service. The people who think it's free simply don't understand this.
Maybe the taxes on all those greedy rich will cover it? Sadly I don't think there's enough wealth in the country to keep this one alive. I only hope we don't bankrupt the country before the Liberals realize what a mistake this is. I'm not going to hold my breath.
Cheers,
Mike

FEMA to use Foriegn Assistance in Exercise
The Liberals cried when the Bush administration FEMA used Blackwater in New Orleans. Now this??? US Soldiers alone might not follow certain orders, where Foreign Soldiers would have no issue at all. Sure they say this is for terrorism prevention from outside the U.S. But if terrorism happens outside the U.S. why do we need Foreign troops here. Wouldn't they have their hands full in their own countries? Wouldn't we just shut our borders? Doesn't it make more sense that this type of exercise would be more for something intenal? Kinda sounds to me like they might be preparing for that armed revolt some are talking about.
Can you imagine what would happen?
Hypothetical situation:
> The US People rise up against thier government demanding leaders step down.
> BO calls in armed resistance
> Our Soldiers refuse to fire on Citizens
> FEMA brings in the backup from other nations
Scared yet?
OK, OK go ahead call me insane. I'm not really one of the "Nut Jobs" out there but this kind of thing could happen. Those people who are sitting comfy at home thinking this is imposable and will NEVER happen are just as Nutty as those insisting it should and will happen.
I'm just suggesting that we think about things a little before we make a snap decision one way or the other.
