Florida's GOP Presidential Straw Poll Results

Herman Cain won Florida’s Presidency 5 straw poll.

This poll does have a pretty good record of picking candidates but the important thing to remember is that only 2,657 specially selected Republican voters were allowed to vote in the straw poll unlike other states which allow all party voters to participate. Rick Perry and Mitt Romney who are dubbed the "front runner's" came in 2nd and third each receiving less than half the votes of Herman Cain. My favorite Ron Paul, who many say have no chance, received only 5% less votes that Perry or Romney.

Also remember that Florida has a history of allowing people to vote multiple times in their straw poll, if selected delegates allow surrogates to vote for their tickets, which cost $175 each.

Who really won the Google / Fox News Florida GOP Debate?

Where is the online poll Fox News posted last night? Ron Paul was winning by over 5000 votes when I went to bed and now this morning the poll is gone, as in it's removed from the internet and Fox is running a story on how Mitt Romney won last night???? Fox went out of their way to advertise how interactive this debate was going to be and when they don't like the interactive results, they simply erased them and ran their own. Yes Fox News removed the online poll showing a Ron Paul winning by a huge margin.

Good job Fox News, you proved you can play the game just as well as any of the left-wing networks.

PEOPLE, do not believe the Media, not even Fox News....

Tonights Florida GOP Debate

In a nutshell it was more of the same. The Fox news folks tried to frame the contest between Rick Perry and Mitt Romney but the answers given by both of those knuckleheads were nothing more than the same old rehearsed lines with a few zingers aimed at each other. Really it was exciting... Really.

I'm a little confused about Herman Cain. Where did the strong Fair Tax Cain go? Now Cain has his own, new 9-9-9 plan, and the Libertarian-Republican Garry Johnson is all of sudden the Fair Tax. I'm not sure what that's all about but it's interesting.

I like Newt Gingrich's comments about buying Greek Bonds and going down together. I also thought all the candidates had excellent answers to the question about how to fix the education system. We do need to abolish the Department of education and give more choice to the parents. The answer is clearly not to simply spend more money.

Ron Paul's rebuttal to his earlier answer in regards to money fleeing the U.S. was spectacular. He received much applause and I think he really helped clarify his position. Sadly, it was only the third time he was allowed to speak. Each time Ron Paul speaks however, I believe more people really begin to see where he stands.

I think Michelle Bachmann really hurt herself when she went out of her way to counter Gary Johnson's comments about flights to Cuba. Apparently Bachmann is scared of Cuban terrorists while John Huntsman is trying really hard to sound more like a libertarian. Rick Santorum is still trying his best to appeal to the social conservatives. His answer in response the gay soldier was actually quiet good. I agree with him, sexual relations have no place in the military, straight, gay or otherwise.

Rick Perry keeps taking more rope to hang himself with on the Gardisil vaccine issue. His answer tonight including a new twist about a women who lobbied him on the issue. Does this help him or hurt him? Do Americans want a President who will make such a statist decision due to a persuasive woman's lobbying skills.

Gary Johnson received the largest applause of the night with his "Shovel Ready" stab at President Obama. When asked to choose a VP from the candidates on the stage there where some very clever and politically smart answers but the best of all was Mitt Romney, who said, anyone on the stage would make a better president than what we currently have. I guess that means Mitt Romney just gave an official endorsement of legitimacy Ron Paul's campaign.

Danville's amazing new $1.2 Million Parking Lot.

Any day now new families and businesses will be moving into Danville now that we are going to have a brand new $1.2 Million "Green" Parking Lot. This parking lot is going to be the catalyst for growth that Danville has been waiting for, or at least that's how it was sold Tuesday night at the City Council meeting. Some would actually have you believe that this brand new High School parking lot is going to help bring in new families and increase property values. Never mind that a brand new Parking lot constructed of traditional means would only cost a quarter of the $1.2 Million projection, this brand new and untested "Green" technology is the icing on the Boondoggle cake that our Federal Government and the climate change community would have us all eating if they had their way.

The EPA just started testing this type of technology in 2009 to see if any positive environmental effects could been seen. They replaced a 43,000-square-foot section of the parking lot at its Edison, NJ facility with three different types of permeable pavement for the study which was slated for a 10 year period. This means the EPA is only 2 years into it's official study, meanwhile they are handing out hundreds of thousands of dollars to any Tom, Dick and city who is willing to spend similar funds implementing something that might or might not actually work.

Not only is this "Green" parking lot going to cost the tax payers $1.2 Million to construct but it will require costly maintenance and cleaning that was only touched on during the meeting. I for one will not be shocked if this maintenance adds tens of thousands in extra cost to the city over the life of the lot. This is only the beginning, if we allow it to continue, this trend in smoke and mirrors "Green" technology will continue to consume our resources and give the government more of an excuse to continue raising taxes.

I urge anyone who agrees with this to share their opinions with their local leaders. We need to prevent the spread of this kind of irrational thinking and spending.

Constitution Day

Constitution Day commemorates the formation and signing of the U.S. Constitution by thirty-nine brave men on September 17, 1787.

This is the day when all those founders signed the United States Constitution, granting the citizens of this great country a Republic, if we can keep it.

It’s important to remember that not only did we claim our independence from England which is the focus of the July 4th Celebration but on this day back in 1787 our Founders locked in place a system that has protected our unalienable rights and our freedom for 224 years. So for that achievement, today we celebrate the birth of our great republic, the United State of America, by reading the great document which made it possible.

Republicans win New Yorks 9th District

The Democrat party holds a three-to-one registration advantage in the heavily-Jewish 9th district of New York. Democrats have represented the district for more over eighty years and President Obama won the district by 11 points in 2008. This didn't stop the Republicans from winning the seat recently occupied by penis flasher, Anthony Wiener. Bob Turner said, "We have been told this is a referendum," after defeating the Democrat Assemblyperson David Weprin.

But Obama's people are already out in force telling everyone that this is not a big deal, the New York 9th wasn't really that important. I'm sure the people in the 9th will also remember this when it comes to vote in 2012.

Remember 9-11

On this day 10 years ago the September 11th attacks took place. At 8:46am American Airlines Flight 11 crashed into the North Tower of the World Trade Center. At 9:03am United Airlines Flight 175 crashed into the South Tower of the World Trade Center. At 9:37am American Airlines Flight 77 crashed into the Pentagon and at 10:15am the official notification of United Airlines Flight 93 having crashed into a field at Shanksville, PA was reported to the world.

These attacks were awful and should never be forgotten but it's also important to remember that these attacks were carried out by radicals not connected to any state or government. The people responsible were loyal to madmen who only cared about carrying out an agenda of terror and hate. Their ultimate mission was to further the rift between our people and our beliefs. Are we going to let them win?

I believe America is great and will always have the upper hand against our enemies as long as we stay resolved and keep up a strong National Defense with a focus on who our enemies actually are. Let's not lose focus by going after the wrong people or worse.

Let's remember September 11th so we may show respect for those who were murdered and those who ultimately gave their life trying to rescue those who remained. Let's also not forget about the untold number of deaths due to war that proceeded. Let's not allow September 11th to become a day where Americans pit faiths against one another in order to prove some kind of superiority. This will only widen the gap between us and play into their hand.
