Deputy Fired Just Before Military Tour

This is a sad sad story that simply should not exist. A County sheriff's deputy who was preparing to leave for a tour of duty was fired before he leaves on Monday. Sgt. Michael Russell was told by the sheriff he was exercising his right to dismiss without cause. The federal law says that no employer can dismiss someone because of their military services, but the law in North Carolina says the sheriff isn't require to say why he is terminating, nice right. As if his tour of duty wasn't enough another part of this story is that the officer sold raffle tickets to help raise funds for an opponent of the sheriff in the last election. So if he's not being let go simply for his military service it looks as if he may have been let go due to the political insecurity of the Sheriff. Either way it's a sad situation.

  1. I have been surfing online more than three hours today, yet I never found any interesting article
like yours. It is pretty worth enough for me. In my view, if all web
owners and bloggers made good content as you did, the net will be a
lot more useful than ever before.
