Ja Rule goes to Ja Ale & other misc 2nd Amendment issues

LOL, I couldn't help it.

The rapper known as Ja Rule will be siting in prison for the next year or so. You might not mind that some tattooed rapper is going to prison but the same thing could happen to a school teacher, nurse or construction worker who carries a gun because they don't want to be carjacked or raped by someone armed with a gun. What was Ja's crime? In 2007 Rule was pulled over after a concert and the Police found a loaded handgun in the back seat. He was not using the gun to commit a crime but the gun was the crime.  Simply having the gun is a crime that can land you in prison if you happen to live in a statist city like New York where the 2nd Amendment doesn't apply.

----------

Meanwhile in Chicago, IL, one of the most staunchly anti-gun mayors in the history of our country has requested Armed Protection for life, from the city of Chicago. Chicago's Ex-Mayor, Richard Daley who would prevent all citizens within the borders of the city the right to protect themselves has the Audacity to expect armed police protection for the rest of his life, as a retirement perk. Can you say hypocrite?

----------

A bill prohibiting Florida Doctors from asking patients about gun ownership was signed into law Governor Rick Scott. This has brought out huge outcry from the anti-gun movement who would like to see physicians be able to facilitate the removal of firearms based on health related reasons. Several Anti-gun groups filed a lawsuit seeking to throw out the new law claiming that it violates doctors First Amendment rights. Really? “By severely restricting such speech and the ability of physicians to practice such preventative medicine, the Florida statute could result in grievous harm to children, adolescents, adults, and the elderly,” according to the motion filed Monday in federal court in Miami. I guess firearm ownership is now a disease???

In the rush to pretend that Republicans have scored a victory in the debt limit battle, have you considered this? There are NO SUBSTANTIVE LIMITS on what the "Super Committee" can report. And whatever the committee decides to do is EXEMPT from a filibuster in the Senate and the Speaker's ordinary prerogative not to bring it up in the House. So, take the so-called gun show "loophole." Or the ban on semi-automatics. If the six Democrats can cower a single Republican into going along with these proposals they could become law.

Once a month I will be sharing summarized versions of the latest 2nd Amendment news and ruling. If you want more information on this topic I suggest becoming a member of the GOA (Gun Owners of America). The only no compromise Gun Lobby in Washington, according to Ron Paul.
